Raising Orthodox Christians: Orthodox Parents Group Recommences

17th June, 2021

Today, our Orthodox Parents Group, which had paused its meetings since the start of the pandemic, re-commenced at the grounds of the Monastery. We were very blessed to have Fr Evangelos as our guest speaker, who after the agiasmo, spoke to us about the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion and their importance in young families.

The group is called ‘Raising Orthodox Christians’, and includes parents, grandparents and other caregivers who meet fortnightly at the Monastery to discuss aspects of raising our children within Orthodoxy in a troubled world, where we as Orthodox Christians may live in the world, but are not of the world. After each meeting, summaries of the discussion are posted on the Monastery’s Facebook page, and on our dedicated section of the Monastery’s website, where all previous meeting summaries can also be found. Read more here.

The next group meeting will be on Thursday the 1st of July at 10am, and we will be honoured to have Fr Ieronymo, the Abbot of St George Monastery Yellow Rock, as our guest speaker through Skype. Fr Ieronymos will speak to us about “Leaving our children a great inheritance”. All are welcome.
